I got to post this...Mel Gibson Threatens Oksana Grigorieva
I now totally dislike Mel Gibson , i will not watch him on film or whats so ever.. He should be charged with mayhem, state of California gives for mayhem up to 8 years. What is Mayhem? Broken Nose, Bites, Broken teeth...Scratches,Cuts and Bruises ...and the list goes on. I cannot believe he hit his woman while she had her baby in her arms. Actually I do believe, i know someone that happen to have the same story. He should be charged with Child endangerment as well.. I hope he goes in Jail.
On a Gardening Note
Some of you know, i have a huge passion for gardening . I have been growing herbs in my garden like rosemary, lemon balm, parsley, thyme, lavender, dill, island mint, and basil.Another thing i plant is green onions. How many times you find yourself buying green onions from the grocery store and you cook with it but you end up dumping the roots? Well i never dump the roots, i cut off the roots and stick them right in the garden or pots and i have all year Green Onions.
I also love fresh basil on a nice pasta or pizza. But my basil recently dried out and was always eaten by snails. . I guess south Florida summer heat is way too harsh. So I looked online how to grow basil the right way.
"Basil likes well-drained soil that is rich in nutrients. It also likes full sun and lots of water. Basil also likes warm weather and will not do well if the weather turns cold.
Slugs and snails love Basil so you’ll need to protect your plants from them. You can crush eggshells and put a ring of them around the base of each plant or put a ring of gravel. Pinch back often to encourage bushy growth. Basil can be grown in containers or in the garden as an ornamental plant. Grow purple leaved varieties next to the green leaved varieties for a beautiful contrast."
Did you know? Rub basil leaves on your skin or grow in a container near a troubled area to repel insects such as mosquitoes. You can also burn sprigs of basil on the barbecue or fire to repel them. Place fresh sprigs over bowls of food to prevent flies from landing.

Flying with kids? Mom offers advice
By Erica Henry Sims, CNN
(CNN) -- Each year, my kids spend part of the summer with my in-laws in St. Louis, Missouri. My husband made the 16-hour-plus round-trip drive from Atlanta, Georgia, to drop them off this year.
I, on the other hand, had the brilliant idea that I would fly to get the kids -- ages 10, 8 and 2 -- and bring them back on the same day.
Here are a few things I learned from that experience:
Airline prices
When you're talking about a family of five, airline prices can be extremely cost-prohibitive. If we can help it, we usually take our family vacations within a six-hour drive from Atlanta so we don't have to fly. Needless to say, we've been to Orlando, Florida, more times than I care to count.
When I decided that I would be flying to bring my children back from St. Louis, I started to check airfares and quickly found that if I flew on a Wednesday, the price would be significantly lower than on any other day of the week.
My flight segments ended up being $75 each way, as opposed to $127 each way if I left on Thursday or Friday, or $177 if I left on Saturday.
Planning and strategizing
One of the things that helped me in getting from my point of origin to my destination was to assign duties and responsibilities to my two older children.
Before we got to the airport, we talked about which bags we each were going to carry and who was responsible for what. By doing this, I made my sons feel extremely important and integral to our trip home, and it really helped me out once we arrived at the airport.
I also weighed my bags before leaving my mother-in-law's house to ensure that we were well under the weight maximum.
We made the decision as a group to eat before we got to the airport. Restaurants at airports tend to be more expensive, but with children, it's easier to eat once you've checked your bags and have some time to kill. We opted to eat beforehand so we could optimize the amount of time we spent with family and saved a few bucks in the process.
I also went online to see whether Lambert-St. Louis International Airport had family restrooms, which it did. This is extremely helpful when traveling with my two sons and a toddler who is in the process of being potty-trained.
Check-in
When traveling with my children, whenever possible, I try to fly on the airline where I have elite status. The check-in line is always shorter, and we get priority service. By doing this, I save time, and I don't have to deal with my children's patience running thin as we snake through the check-in queue.
When traveling with a small army, stop and make sure that each person has a boarding pass before leaving the ticket counter. I neglected to do that and made it all the way to security before I realized that the agent gave me only three boarding passes instead of four. I lost precious time backtracking to the check-in counter and have a few extra gray hairs on my head as a result.
Security
Since I lost precious minutes by not ensuring I had all our boarding passes, I was pressed for time when I got to security. I was able to us my elite membership card, which allowed us to use the priority security lane. I know this move saved me at least 20 minutes and helped me make up the time I lost backtracking to the check-in counter. So if you have airline loyalty program memberships, use them!
The flight
I always take advantage of pre-boarding the aircraft when I'm traveling with kids. By doing this, I know I'm not holding anyone up as we take extra time storing all of our carry-ons in the overhead bin.
We also decide well in advance of boarding who is going to sit next to the window. That will save you grief if you have a quick conversation before you actually get on your plane.
I've also noticed that people tend to get anxious when they see families with children boarding a plane. I've been on both sides, and I know that when other passengers see us coming, they say a silent prayer that they won't be sitting anywhere in close proximity to us. When people see us coming, they have low expectations about how my children will behave.
But over the years, I have armed my children with manners, and I think people are pleasantly surprised at how well-behaved my older children are. Because of that, they tend to give me more latitude when it comes to my toddler. Flight attendants also tend to slip us extra pretzel or peanut packages, or they let us keep the the full can of soda.
On this last trip, several people, including the flight crew, complimented me my children's behavior as they disembarked. In other words, they thanked me for the fact that my children didn't drive them crazy during the flight.
We even earned ourselves three sets of bona fide captain's wings, which my 8-year-old and 2-year-old adored; my 10-year-old was too cool to put them on.
Bottom line: When traveling with kids, plan for and expect the unexpected!

Dont you just love Martha?
I am such a big fan of Martha Stewart! I love her web site and the craft and ideas she has there.I am going to be sharing my favorites here.
Seashell candles..
First, clean the shells in a weak solution of bleach and water, and let dry. Melt paraffin wax or existing candles in the top of a double boiler (use one with a lip, if possible; it will be easier to pour from). We mixed the melted wax of pink, mauve, and yellow candles to create coral tones that complement our shells.
If a shell has a tendency to wobble, stabilize it by resting it on top of a cup. Cut the wicking to 2 to 3 inches, and attach it to a metal wick holder; set aside.
Pour the melted wax into the shell, then place the wick and holder in the bottom of the shell, being careful not to burn your fingers. If wick droops, trim slightly. Let cool until hardened, about 30 minutes.
And be careful: The top layer of the wax hardens first, but the melted wax underneath will spill out if the candle is moved before it has had a chance to cool completely.

ps. I have wax tarts from Bath and Body works. I usually dump them after the aroma tint out, so now i am going to save the left over wax for these easy seashell candles. What a great gift that could be.....
Lemon Candles...
The soft light and sweet aroma of candles always make a room more inviting. You can easily make your own naturally scented votive candles from hollowed-out lemon skins and beeswax. When pouring the wax, make sure it's at just the right temperature (180 degrees): If it's too hot, it will draw all the moisture from the lemon; if it's too cold, it won't cool and set well. These candles are best used within a day or two after making them. Makes 24 candles.
Tools and Materials
- 1 dozen lemon
- Knife
- Melon baller
- Candy thermometer
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon oil
- Wicks
- Wick holder
- 1 pound beeswax
- Small paintbrush
Lemon Candles How-To
1. Cut the lemons lengthwise. Squeeze out as much of the juice as possible without tearing the skin. Hollow out the lemon halves with a melon baller.
2. In a double boiler, heat beeswax until melted, about 180 degrees. Check temperature with a candy thermometer. Turn off the heat and add lemon oil.
3. Cut 3 inches of wick; tie a knot at one end. Thread the loose end through a wick holder, and pull so the knot is secure under the holder.
4. Dip the wick and holder with wax until coated; this will stiffen and straighten the wick. Press the wick holder into the bottom of the lemon half to affix. Let the wick dry.
5. Pour the wax into the lemon half, and fill to the edge. Use a small paintbrush to coat the rim of the lemon with wax. Let the candle dry for about 4 hours.
